Jubilee: Freed to Live!

It is fifty years since the United Reformed Church came into being. Recognising this significant milestone, ‘Jubilee’ is the theme for the 2022 URC Prayer Handbook.

“We have not seen the jubilee as a time for looking back, so much as an opportunity to look honestly, carefully and prayerfully at where we are and where we as the people of God are encountering God in everyday events,” say editors Karen Campbell and the Revd Ian Fosten.

The prayers in the Handbook are arranged into two sections. The first follows the Lectionary readings for each Sunday and other significant occasions in the year, whilst the second has prayers and meditations celebrating the many and varied ways in which we are freed to live by God whom we meet in Jesus and know by the Holy Spirit.

The contributors span a wider than ever age range and in addition to General Secretary the Revd Dr John Bradbury, prayers have been written the Revds Tony Burnham, David Cornick, Roberta Rominger and John Proctor.
