This is the Church that God built is written by the Revd Dr Peter Stevenson, who, until February 2019, was minister at Crossway Church in the Elephant and Castle area of south London. The church has served the community for more than a century, and in 2019 is home to ten congregations, three day centres and numerous community groups.
The book traces some of the church's history in the wider context of urban ministry and the changing social environment of the area. It includes accounts from those who attend the church, its connections to royalty, a delay-action bomb that exploded near the church and more.
It also details the transformation of the church as part of the area's redevelopment to it's new purpose-built building, right at the heart of the community situated next to the Strata Tower.
The book also includes a list of all those who worked on the new church which opened in April 2017.
